We love vietnamese food! Fortunately, there are thousands of vietnamese restaurants in Berlin and most of them serve tofu to almost any dish. But there is one major problem you should always have in mind: fish sauce. So be aware of fish sauce in coconut soups or any dressings. But guess what? You dont's have the fish sauce struggle, while visiting a vegan vietnamese restaurant. Bingo! So welcome at 1990 Vegan Living!

Who is with us?
Our todays meet up takes us to Boxhagener Platz in Friedrichshain. Nadine, Andy, Maximilian and Lisa are already excited to munch all the small bowls, we aready saw on Instagram & Co.
You definitely have to try…
It feels like we are ordering every dish on the menu card. Obviously, Julia choosed the vietnamese taco and edamame, while Isa gets excited for her soy-veggie-dumplings. We are stating our menu with homemeade lemonades and ending with green matcha-desserts topped with roasted sesame seeds. A bowl costs 3,50€, main dishes 8,50€ and homemeade juices and lemonades are starting at 3,80€. Everything is freshly prepared!
The best thing is:
Visiting the 1990 feels like sitting in the jungle but in a very cosy atmosphere. Buuuuuut there is another fact we really like at 1990: we are huge fans of ordering several mini bowls instead of one main dish. Such a good idea!
Who's stealing your last morsel from the plate?
Is there a better spot at Boxhagener Platz for lunch than 1990 Vegan Living? Guess not! The meal comes fast, the service is friendly and you can choose between small and big bowls. It's a perfect spot for business people. You should make reservations in advance especially for weekend evenings.
Be prepared for:
The 1990 Vegan Living serves authentic, vietnamese food, as in 1990. At this time meat wasn't very popular in Vietnam, so it was quite common to eat vegetarian and vegan dishes. This is one of the reasons the 1990 doesn't serve Coca Cola, Fanta or any other pupular brands. They only serve fresh, homemade juices, lemonades and drinks (except beer and wine).
If this restaurant would be an animal:
… it would be a chimpanzee. Excited and funny, but still relaxed.
