In our series “Berlin Guide“ we share our favorite snack bars, restaurants or cafés with you. We reveal where to get the best vegan donuts in town, which Vietnamese tapas restaurant you should visit and where you’ll catch us eating vegan pizza. Here are all our Berlin recommendations.
It’s sugar paradise right in Berlin! Why did it took us so many donuts to write this article? This is one of our favorite food spots in Berlin and we couldn’t think of any Street Food Thursday, Green Market or any traditional Neukölln-Sunday without this sweet spot. Some years ago, Julia was visiting Jessica and Bram in their own flat, where they used to bake their donuts. This was also the time, when they collected money via Kickstarter for their own café. Unfortunately, this didn’t work out, but now they DO have their own happy place and we couldn’t be happier for them! But be warned: they close as soon as they are sold out! So come early to get as many donuts as you want!
Who should eat with you there?
Whether you’re alone, with somebody or with a group, whether you want to eat there or take a donut to go – everything’s possible at Brammibal’s.
You should definitely try…
The coffee! No, of course donuts – all donuts! All non-vegans will enjoy a nice sweet donut and all vegans will go nuts, since they know that it’s tricky to make real good vegan, fluffy donuts at home. Our favorite sorts? Well, from basic sugar&cinnamon to poppy-lemon or peanut butter fudge caramel there has never been a single donut we didn’t like.
The best thing about this restaurant:
... the smell! This sweet smell of tasty donuts is all over the place.
Be prepared for:
Pragmatically: There is always a pre choice of donuts, so you probably won’t get every donut you can see on their website. BUT they also serve some new donuts that you don’t find on their website. There will be enough choice and we learnt: There’s no such thing as ONE donut. Or are we the only ones ordering at least two of them everytime … plus the extra donut we order to go for our way back home?
If this restaurant would be an animal:
... it would be a hamster, stuffing donut after donut into his small cheeks.
