Tasty Ten: Vegan ice cream spots in Berlin

In our series “Berlin Guide“ we share our favorite snack bars, restaurants or cafés with you. We reveal where to get the best vegan donuts in town, which Vietnamese tapas restaurant you should visit and where you’ll catch us eating vegan pizza. Here are all our Berlin recommendations.

Usually, it’s no problem to get vegan ice cream. You always find vegan options like fruit sorbets, which are most of the time produced without any animal products. That’s cool, but after a while, you get tired of always having lemon and mango sorbet. We want cheesecake ice cream, dipped in hot chocolate and spaghetti-ice-cream in a cone. Puh! So we collected our favorite ice cream spots in Berlin for you.

California Pops

A18 Tasty Ten: Vegan ice cream spots in Berlin

Price per scoop? 2,50 - 3,50 €
You should try: Dark chocolate with homemade almond milk
Do they have spaghetti ice cream? No

Anything else?

We don’t often eat popsicles, and that’s definitely a fault. Our favorite place for popsicles is „California Popsicles“ in Kreuzberg and Prenzlauer Berg. We love all the flavors here, but you should definitely try a popsicle with their homemade vegan almond milk!

Meine kleine Eiszeit

A18 Tasty Ten: Vegan ice cream spots in Berlin

Price per scoop? 1,50 €
You should try: Coconut-sour-cherry
Do they have spaghetti ice cream? Yes, if they offer vegan vanilla ice cream
Do they have vegan ice cream cones? Yes

Anything else?

“Meine kleine Eiszeit“ is located directly in Neukölln, Weserstraße. Most of the time they offer 4-5 vegan ice cream flavors, we can recommend all of them: hazelnut, dark chocolate, walnut with caramelized nuts, or coconut-sour-cherry icecream. We especially like that not all ice creams are based on soy milk, but also on oat or coconut milk. The ice cream cones are vegan too but cost 20 cent extra. And if they have vegan vanilla ice cream, they also serve vegan spaghetti ice cream.

Caramello

Do they have spaghetti ice cream? No

You should try: Vegan stracciatella ice cream
Do they have spaghetti ice cream? No
Do they have vegan ice cream cones? No

Anything else?

„Eislabor“ offers no fancy ice cream sorts and goes very well if you like those classy flavors. We love their soy ice creams and hope they will do some more in the future. Cause it’s always yummy!

Do they have spaghetti ice cream? Yes
Do they have vegan ice cream cones? Yes

Anything else?

We are huge fans of “tanneB.“ You have to try their vegan spaghetti ice cream, cause this one is not from this planet: White chocolate, whipped cream, strawberry sauce, and vanilla ice cream! They offer some more vegan ice cream flavors at their counter.

Delabuu Ice Cream

A18 Tasty Ten: Vegan ice cream spots in Berlin

Price per scoop? 3.60 Euro (small), 4.60 Euro (large)
You should try: Very difficult to say about this place, but the combination of vegan chocolate, cookies, berry sauce and caramelized nuts was an excellent one
Do they have spaghetti ice cream? No
Do they have vegan ice cream cones? No

Anything else?

“Delabuu Ice Cream“ is a quite exotic spot on our ice cream list. You won't find ice cream in scoops here but rolled Thai-style. How is it working? The base is always vegan milk, and you can create your very own ice cream by checking all ingredients on the list that you'd like to have (from fruits to vegan chocolate and vegan Nutella there's pretty much everything that you could wish for). All vegan options are marked on the list. Afterward, you can see how the ice cream is made and rolled precisely to your order. Altogether, Delabuu is a very delicious and fun place for ice cream!

Mos Eisley

Price per scoop? 1-2€
You should try: Soy Peanut Crunch
Do they have spaghetti ice cream? Yes
Do they have vegan ice cream cones? Yes

Anything else?

“Mos Eisley“ is a small ice cream shop in Neukölln. They offer a lot of different sorts, and some of them are vegan. We tried their chocolate and cookies ice cream and liked it. Such a lovely and relaxed place to go!

Rosa Canina

Price per scoop? 1,50€
You should try: Vegan chocolate ice cream
Do they have spaghetti ice cream? No
Do they have vegan ice cream cones? No

Anything else?

You can find “Rosa Canina“ two times in Prenzlauer Berg. The cafe at Hufelandstrasse is tiny but offers a lot of different sorts. “Rosa Canina“ is not a vegan café, but they offer a few vegan sorts. The second store at Pasteurstraße provides far more seats and ice cream flavors. We really liked their chocolate ice cream with chocolate chips. There is a second store at Pasteurstrasse 32 and Markthalle Neun in Kreuzberg.

Süsse Sünde

A18 Tasty Ten: Vegan ice cream spots in Berlin

Price per scoop? 1,50-2€
You should try: Dark Chocolate
Do they have spaghetti ice cream? No
Do they have vegan ice cream cones? No

Anything else?

“Süsse Sünde“ is located next to the Weinbergspark in Mitte/Prenzlauer Berg and offers fantastic dark chocolate ice cream. We also like their strawberry-basil-sorbet or mango and lemon. But be prepared, there is always a long line in front of the shop. For the future, we wish some more vegan “milky“ ice creams. There is a second shop at Niederbarnimstraße 21 in Friedrichshain.

vanille & marille

A18 Tasty Ten: Vegan ice cream spots in Berlin

You should try: Hazelnut-banana
Do they have spaghetti ice cream? No
Do they have vegan ice cream cones? Yes, also black ones.

Anything else?

You'll find "Vanille & Marille" several times in Berlin. They already have six spots in Kreuzberg, Schöneberg, Tempelhof, and Steglitz. The company focuses on regional and high-quality ingredients that are always natural and whenever possible local, organic and Fairtrade products. You'll always find several vegan ice cream flavors in any stores, from classic sorbets to fancier flavors like chocolate mint in a black cone. And what's especially sweet: They also sell packaged ice cream to take home to your freezer!
